Bidding Process
Before an auction begins you will receive an email informing you that there is an upcoming auction and it will detail how long the auction will last and where to go to place your bid(s). An auction usually lasts for 48 hours. When you log on to ModusLinkAuction.com you can search through all the products that are available. You will see the Part No., description, condition, packaging, quantity available and target price, when you "search products" in the "products" category.
When you find a product that you wish to place a bid on, simply place the amount you wish to bid into the "per unit bid" box and specify the quantity you wish to purchase. Please ensure that you place your bid in the correct corresponding box to the part # you wish to bid on. When you are satisfied that these are the bids that you wish to place, click on "Place Bids". You will then be asked to confirm your bid(s). Once you have done this your bid(s) will be recorded on our system.
You can also buy the product immediately by bidding the Target Price. This is the 'Buy It Now' price and guarantees allocation. If you cannot met the target price you can place a bid and the inventory will be released to the highest bidder at the end of the auction assuming no bids are received matching the Target Price.
Once the auction closes, all bids will be analyzed and the person(s) who has the highest bid for a certain product will be awarded that product(s). The person(s) will receive an email informing them of what they have won in the auction and will ask them to submit their PO for processing. All other bids will be refused and bidding parties will receive an email informing them they have been unsuccessful in the auction.
